Molly Schoenhoff experiments with the material
of language and the language of material.
She approaches creative practice like a cultural geographer, with curiosity about how we respond to the cultural forces that shape our lives. Since childhood, she has connected with her internal landscape through writing, drawing and making. She engages in social practice, community art, material reuse, fiber art, photography, concept mapping and writing — activities that have informed her role as an educator in graphic design and art departments. Her artwork ranges in material and mode of production, and her practices tend to be improvisational.

Her work has been published in gingerzine, and exhibited at University of Alberta, Art Institute of Boston, University of Minnesota, Ohio University and Core New Art Space in Denver. She has been recognized by the American Center for Design, American Institute of Graphic Arts, Society for Environmental Graphic Design, University and College Designers Association, Ohio Museum’s Association, Art Director’s Club of Cincinnati, American Advertising Federation, Art Center Dayton, St. Louis Artist’s Guild, and the Louisville Visual Art Association. Her research has been published in American Indian Quarterly, Journal
for Intercultural Communication Studies,
and
Print Magazine
. She holds an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design.
